PERSONAL:

  • Chuck is a third generation driver. His father, Chuck Gurney, won 1989 USAC Silver Crown Series championship, 1988-89 Turkey Night Grand Prix, 1988 Belleville Nationals, 1985 USAC Supermodified championship, six times at Phoenix International Raceway and was inducted into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame in 2004. His grandfather competed in USAC and BCRA in the 1950s.
  • Chuck graduated from Livermore High School with a 3.8 GPA. Has competed against Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman, Jason Leffler, Kasey Kahne, J.J. Yeley and A.J. Allmendinger.

  • Favorite food is Mexican.
  • Hobbies include water skiing, video gaming, basketball and playing poker.
  • When off track, Chuck specializes in carbon fiber fabrication at Indy Performance Composites in Brownsburg, Ind.
